Had a great trip up to the Lake District yesterday for my presentation to Keswick Lecture Society. It was a gorgeous sunny October’s day so I drove up in the morning and went straight to Castlerigg Standing Stones for a few photos. It was quite beautiful with the autumnal colours of the trees and the lichen on the stones. Then met up with local friends for lunch.
The evening talk went well with over one hundred attending. They all seemed to enjoyed my presentation ‘To The Top Of The World’ on my trip to the Geographic North Pole in 2011 – at least they laughed at the right bits! Finished off the night with a couple of Cumbrian pints in town.
Great scenery, meeting good friends, a generous audience and a grand pint. A perfect day.
